ESTIMATED COST: $1,490,126.00

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: The licensing requirement of the Prime Contractor for this project is State of Florida General Contractor License, General Engineering License, or as applicable to Chapter 10 of the Miami-Dade County Code.

The Contractor will be required to obtain a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Special Activity License for handling corals.

SCOPE OF WORK: The Work of this Contract comprises the tasks necessary for the removal, relocation, and monitoring of all scleractinia (hard) coral colonies and octocoral (soft) coral colonies that shall be relocated within rip rap from the existing rip rap or bulkhead at proposed Berth 9 and Berth H. Only a portion (approximately 82%) of the permitted estimated number of coral colonies from the rip rap and substrate from Berth 9 will be relocated because only the western 1,014 feet portion of the bulkhead will be constructed. The coral colonies associated with the construction of Berth H will be performed by other Contractors. The relocation site for most of the coral colonies shall be the existing and new artificial reefs at artificial reef site POM A. All listed coral species (e.g., Orbicella spp.), Pseudodiploria spp., and Montastraea cavernosa found on the existing rip rap or bulkhead shall be donated to the coral nursery at Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. In addition, the work of this Contract also comprises the tasks necessary for the construction and placement of artificial reef modules required for Berth H. The project consists of, but is not limited to, pre-construction coral survey and monitoring; off-site construction of 90 artificial reef modules: loading 90 artificial reef modules onto a barge; placement of 90 artificial reef modules at the artificial reef site POM A; monitoring transplanted coral colonies for one week after transplantation; and any supportive ancillary tasks to successfully complete all phases of the project.

DOCUMENT PICK-UP: Documents are available (on Compact Disk) starting on October 29, 2020, at PortMiami's Contracts, Procurement and Materials Management Section, 1007 N. America Way, Suite 311, Miami, FL 33132. The firm submitting a bid must purchase a set of Bid Documents necessary to prepare and submit a bid.

The non-refundable fee for each set of Bid Documents (available on one Compact Disk) is $15.00 and only checks or money orders are acceptable and shall be made payable to: Miami Dade-County Seaport Department. To purchase a set of Bid Documents, please bring your business card, contractor's license, or company letterhead authorizing you to purchase the Bid Documents.

MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: The Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting shall be held on November 9, 2020, at 10:00 AM. The location will be at PortMiami, 1007 N. America Way, 2nd Floor Main Conference Room, Miami, FL 33132. All persons interested in participating in the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting must pre-register and indicate their intention to attend the meeting by sending an email to sprfi@miamidade.gov with a copy to the Clerk of the Board at clerkbcc@miamidade.gov and a copy to Frank.Ramirez@miamidade.gov  The email must state each participant's name, email address, and phone number as well as their company's name.

Since the Scope of the Work will be conducted underwater, there shall be NO SITE VISIT. However, photos, sketches, videos, etc. will be displayed during the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting.
