Miami-Dade County is soliciting interested contractors to register to participate and perform in Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) Bids under the MCC 7040 & 7360 Plan projects.

The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating.

Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors.

License Requirements - At the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and Contract Documents, the Bidder and all its subcontractor must hold a valid, current, and active State and/or Miami-Dade County contractor’s license consistent with the requirements of the Scope of Work.

ESTIMATED COST: $1,052,800.00

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: General Building Contractor

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, supervision and all items necessary for the restoration construction work to eight (8) existing fenders located at Miami-Dade County Seaboard Department.

Work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: (i) removal of eight (8) existing fenders; (ii) concrete repair work; (iii) installation of new fender backing system; (iv) installation of extension chains to existing chains; (v) associated hardware and re-mounting of existing fenders; and (vi) any supportive ancillary tasks to the primary scope of services to successfully complete the project.

The Contractor must meet the below requirements:

1) Contractor must have completed at least three (3) similar projects (remedial work to a bulkhead cap) within the past ten (10) years

2) Contractor must have completed at least one (1) project within the past ten (10) years on an active apron (space between the terminal and the end of the bulkhead)

3) Contractor must have performed construction work from a barge with the assistance of a twelve (12) ton crane

The experience must be demonstrated by the individual of the Prime Contractor that will have direct or substantial involvement in a supervisory capacity at the Project Manager level or above. As a condition of award, the selected Contractor shall submit the individual(s) name(s) and list of past projects, contact information along with references.

4) Contractor and/or Subcontractor must have completed the fabrication of one (1) similar metal frame (12’-0” X 12’-0” X 5’-0”) with a minimum weight of ten (10) tons within a period of sixty (60) consecutive calendar days

The experience must be demonstrated by the individual of the Contractor and/or Subcontractor that will have direct or substantial involvement in a supervisory capacity at the Project Manager level or above. As a condition of award, the selected Contractor shall submit the individual(s) name(s) and list of past projects, contact information along with references.

All permit requirements shall be followed and enforced as required by each respective government agency and documented in the permit.

All work shall be performed in accordance with the Contract Documents.

The firm submitting a bid must purchase a set of bid documents necessary to prepare and submit a bid. The non-refundable fee for each set of Bid Documents (available on one Compact Disk) is $15.00 and only checks or money orders are acceptable and shall be made payable to: Miami Dade-County Seaport Department.
