AAPA Announces 2018 Calendar of Seminars & Conferences

11 maritime industry programs slated; add’l programs to be announced

The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA)— the recognized and coordinated voice of seaports in the Americas—has slated 11 maritime industry training programs and conferences for 2018, including the popular Planning for Shifting Trade workshop in Tampa, FL, Jan. 30-31; the communications-focused Public Relations Workshop in Mobile, AL, (March 1-2); AAPA’s first-ever supply chain information management Smart Ports program in Oakland, CA (March 6-7); the association’s annual Spring Conference in Washington, D.C. (March 20-21); the port infrastructure-centric Capital Projects Seminar in Norfolk, VA (May 8-9); and the Western Hemisphere seaport industry’s 107th Annual Convention and Exposition (Oct. 7-10), to be held in Valparaíso, Chile, and hosted by the Port of Valparaíso.

In response to favorable member feedback, AAPA is updating and bringing back the Energy and Environment Seminar that was last held in Vancouver, Canada, in September 2016. The 2018 seminar will move across the continent to Jersey City, NJ (Sept. 11-12), and again focus on energy as both a commodity/business line and a power source/cost-savings opportunity for ports.

Further information about the 2018 AAPA workshop, seminar and conference programs is now available on the AAPA website. Additional day-long, topic-specific programs may be added to the AAPA website during the year which don’t appear below.
