A Business Case for a South Florida Inland Port

Given the limited land capacity on which the Port of Miami, Port Everglades and Port of Palm Beach currently operate, how and where can these international shipments be accommodated? Can they be handled and stored efficiently for immediate delivery to different distribution points throughout South Florida, Central Florida and the rest of the hinterland? Are the roads from the seaports adequate to handle the additional volume of truck traffic or will this new volume just add to current congestion? Can these containers be transported more quickly and be environmentally sensitive to the surrounding populated areas? The above components are factors that point to the need for an Inland Port.
