The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA)— the recognized and coordinated voice of seaports in the Americas—has slated 10 maritime industry programs for 2017, including the revamped Planning for Shifting Trade (previously called Shifting International Trade Routes) workshop in Tampa, FL, Feb. 2-3; AAPA’s biennial Cruise Seminar, to be held in San Diego, CA, Feb. 14-15; the association’s annual Spring Conference in Washington, DC, April 4-6; and its 106th Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 1-4, in Long Beach, CA, which is being hosted by the Port of Long Beach.
Last held in 2005, AAPA’s completely revised and updated Communications and Economic Development Seminar is a dual-track program scheduled for June 13-14 in Portland, OR. It will include port public relations and port economic development topics, with a focus on collaborations and strategies that can help ports gain favor with customers, community members, government officials and other important stakeholders.
