PORT OF LONG BEACH
Pier T Container Terminal Development Project

 

The first megaterminal at the Port of Long Beach involved the development of a 380-acre tract at the former Long Beach Naval Complex at a total cost of $602 million. The scope of this almost decade long development makes it noteworthy as does the budgetary, environmental and tenant challenges involved in the project. This project required 17 major engineering design and construction projects and employed 5,500 construction workers.

This terminal uses innovative combinations of state-of-the art technologies to maximize its capacity. This project’s excellent planning; project management and engineering innovation resulted in an efficient terminal that can sustain long term competitiveness in a highly competitive maritime industry.
